454 or ls1

i want to install a different motor in my 85 z28 i have a carburated 350 in it now but i want more power so i dont know witch motor to choose an ls1 or a 454 witch one would you guys choose and why thanks for your help

Axle/Gears: 4.30 M12, 23.42 10 bolt
For daily drivability and reliability go with the LS1, but for raw power and ungodly torque numbers use a 454, or stroke it to 496 while your at it, you will have to invest in allot of suspension and drive line parts to back the big block.

I love bigblock power , but if I had the money and the know how to install an ls1 I would do that .It just seems like you have endless posabilty with the ls1 . You can get good mpg and still hammer though turns .If this was a drag only I go BBC . In the end you will spend about the same .
