383 build

Hey guys, Can someone tell me what would have more potential, a carb 383 or the LT1, I have wanted to put the LT1 in my 87 rs, but now i am second thoughts, and i'm thinking about building a 383. How much work is involved in swapping the either motor into my V6 RS? Only plans i had fot the LT1 was a different set of heads and can. Looking for best bang for the buck, I would like to add some boost to it , but i know i would have to redo the bottom of the LT1 for that. So any input would be great.

the lt1 motor has a very limited aftermarket available, but they can be made to have around 500 hp, with a 383 the potential is unlimited.
