what stroker kit???
I was wandering what are some stroker kits out there besides the 383?(like where can I find them? Any links you guys have?) I have to rebuild my motor on $2500 and I dont want to waste my money on something thats most likely going to twist my car in half. I'm just looking to make my car faster then slightly moded ls1's if possible. And right now all I have for a motor is an 200,000 mile l98 350 with iron vortec heads and a t-56 tranny (so I know the tranny is good up to 450 lbs of tq but I don't want to push my luck). So is there any stroker kits out there that help to keep the tq #'s around 400 and raise the hp more?

well a slightly modded ls1 can run 11's so going that fast is not gonna be cheap. you could do a complete top end kit like a holley systemax package that will run you like $1400. and then if you wanna go faster get slicks and nitrous and hope for the best

well with my setup the way I was I had a motor with 200,000 miles and I changed it to a six speed from a 97 trans am, with a few bolt-ons like cai, headers, tune up. And I raced a really well broken in z28 ls1 and he says he races cobras that run 12's all day and normally beats them he showed me the tapes and when I raced him he put like 1 car on me and said that it would prob. be really close between me and a stock ls1. And I didn't even change my rear gears I left them as 3.23's. So I'm sure that if I can get closer hp #'s like 400hp or something and change the gears then I'll be able to beat most ls1's out there that aren't too radical. I'm going to start trying to make a bigger gap in the weight diff cause we are like 500lbs lighter already someone already told me. oh and I know its not going to be cheap I've already bought the car for $2000 and put a $1200 tranny in it now its time for a motor and I'm thing of a crate motor from summit already done with vortec heads pushing 330hp. I think that'll be enough to beat stock ls1's for sure.
