Swapping a Pontiac 400.
Hey, Im getting ready to swap a Pontiac 400 into my 87 Formula after I just got done putting a 350 it blew up so I decided to put a Pontiac motor in it because my dad and I are into them pretty hard. They sound great and make excellent power.
The motor is out of a 68 GTO has been re-ringed, has #46 heads with moderate Porting, a mild cam specs are .465 .488/ .282 .292, Torquer II intake and Edelbrock 600 CFM carb, Mallory Ultra Lite Distributor and Blaster 2 Coil. How much HP and TQ do you guys think it should have? Im switching from my T-5 off course cause the pontiac torque would just demolish it to a Turbo-350.
For you guys that did the swap what was the hardest thing that you encountered? And how was the pay off?
