Cylinder head rust.
Hey guys, I recently swapped in my 355 w/ 215 cc Dart Iron eagle cylinder heads. I didn't paint them before installation, now I have surface rust all over the head. Can I let this go for a while until I need to pull the head off? Will it be easy to clean/ repaint the heads? Whats the best way of doing this?

Won't hurt anything. Typically you can degrease and paint over it.
Loosening the valve covers a little would slow down the rate of rusting. . .

Re: Cylinder head rust.
Its not 'consumption' per se.... its more like just a secondary purpose. Once it stops, you know to add oil again
Actually, its not a problem to have a little surface rust. Cast iron is pretty cool like that. If its oil covered when you paint it, degrease is first. If its still dry metal, just spray them off with carb cleaner, then water, then paint them.
