Blueprint Crate Motor Questions
I am looking at the 355 blueprint crate engine listed on the website below. It is a 1 piece rear main 385 hp, 405 ft.lbs..

It says that I would need an 8" non-weighted harmonic balancer and a late model 350 weighted flexplate. I am thinking that the stock flexplate from my 89 TBI motor is the correct flexplate but I am not sure about the 8" balancer. I am thinking they are saying a balancer for an internally balanced motor, I've just not heard it called non-weighted before.
Also wondering what size stall converter to go with?
Car is mainly street driven during the nice summer days.
Any help you can give is appreciated.

You are correct on the damper and flexplate.
That engine would probably like somewhere between 2500-3000 RPM stall.

Re: Blueprint Crate Motor Questions
I know this is an old post but some people may find it useful. I bought the same engine and it's installed and running great. I bought the following Flexplate and balancer...

Dorman 594-121 Balancer
