build-up questions

I have 305 TPI, and I was wondering how much power can be produced with it, and how to achieve it...its out of an 86 IROCZ.

Would it be worth the work, time, and money?

Should I just buy an LS1, and turbo it?

Something larger?

My goal is 400HP+.

Re: build-up questions

That goal is not even remotely realistic for a 305 TPI, unless you're willing to add a healthy dose of nitrous or something. It's tough enough to get that thing up to 300 HP, let alone 400.

You don't need "turbo" to get 400 HP out of the LS1.

Re: build-up questions

I figured the 305 wouldnt be much fun, trying to beef it up that much. I had a buddy with a turbo'd LS1...had about 580 at the wheels. I like turbos, that is most of the reason to use one. 400..is nice but more than 400 is awesome.
