LS1 accessories

I am going to perform a transplant on my 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS. The orginal engine is a 305, it has 185,000 miles on it and doesn't smoke or skip a beat, but I got my hands on a 5.3L from a 2003 Chevrolet SIlverado. My question is will the accesories fit from the old 305 to the new 5.3L engine or will I have to find all new accessories? Also if anyone out there has done this transplant already could you let me know of any obsticles I might run into? This is going to be a winter project. Thank you.

Re: LS1 accessories

You cannot run the old 3rd gen accessories on the truck engine, best thing is to get the f-body accessories and use them.

yup.

also, you'll have to drill/tap one, possibly 2 holes.

not hard, just do it before you install the engine.

Re: LS1 accessories

The LSX block is identical to all of the LSx based motor as is the L92 heads. You will have to run LS1 accessories on it.
