manifold heights/hood clearance

not sure if this belongs here but i couldnt decide so let me try.
going from a weiand intake, basically same height as a performer to a performer rpm or a performer air gap performer.i believe both rpm manifolds have the same heights.im using a q -jet with factory dual intake air cleaner.currently i fit under the hood including the insulation.rpm looks to be about 1/2 to 5/8 inch higher per edelbrock.anyone running a similiar set up underneath a stock hood and how is clearance?i also want to add a nitrous plate down the road so i think that will add another 1/2 to 3/4 inch but im more or less concerned about new manifold first.please advise.
