350 to 350, Cam questions

So i'm working on an bare block 350 engine that came from a 88 suburban, and so far this rebuild kit is going to be ordered tomorrow morning.

http://www.naparts.com/ProductModelD...ctModelId=3741

Comes with a cam of my choice, and I'm open to suggestions/opinions because most of you are more experienced than I. (first swap, woot!!)

The car should be bone stock except for the full 350 swap previous owners did.

Goals for the car:

Streetable, keep TPI, have decent MPG for a daily driver, but I want to be able to smoke any *****s at a stop light, and perhaps fast enough to run away from the popo if needed Haha, kidding on the last one.

Alright, I'll be on for a while, bout to drink a rockstar and go back to my work. Any comments welcome!

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see an option for the cam, just "Federal Mogul Camshaft".

Don't much like the looks of "Federal Mogul recessed head Pistons", either.

Re: 350 to 350, Cam questions

Yeah I can call in and get pretty much whatever piston/camshaft they carry

I'm goin with a rolling camshaft I know that much, my teacher said their pistons are pretty solid.. what looks bad bout those pistons? =X

****, I'm tryin to remove the crankshaft dampener - anyway to do it without the special tool? O_x

That and the PS pulley I have left to remove.. gonna see if I can do anything else, afk

Which I assume raises the price.

Dished, or higher pin height. They will lower the compression.

No. Use the special tool.

Re: 350 to 350, Cam questions

Word.

Recessed pistons no good. I'm researching how I can up my compression now.

Thinnest head gaskets I can go with, stock heads, some well designed pistons (gonna look em up right after this).

Now I need to play mix and match it looks like =/

Here it goes.
