Will this fit with mine? 88' small block 350 to 84' camaro?
I got an 88' small block 350 out of an 88 chevy pickup. I believe it should fit into an 84' camaro if I am correct, but someone mentioned be careful about the electric ignition? Does the 84 not have it? So that will make the engine not work with it? I am curious on this, and if anyone else can let me know what else might work not work, or basically what I need to look out for!
Thanks so much.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Yes, it will "fit". There are a couple of things to address, though.
Assuming your '84 is a 305 V8:
Yes, you have "electronic" ignition, but it's different from the '88 version. Take your intake manifold, carb, distributor, water pump, etc. off your 305 and put it on the '88 350. The main difference is the '88 has a one-piece rear main seal and your '84 has two-piece rear main seal, which means the cranks are different - and, the flexplate will be different. If the '88 has a 153-tooth flexplate (I'm really not sure what they did for trucks), then leave it on the engine and put your '84 starter on (the '88 would probably work, too). If the '88 has a 168-tooth flexplate, then you will need to buy a 153-tooth flexplate for '86-'92 f-body 305 or 350 application and put it on the '88 engine with your '84 starter.
(By the way, we ask on thirdgen.org that you not introduce a new topic on someone else's thread - just start your own after you
for the information you're looking for first.)
