new member sayin hey and askin for input

After spending 3 hrs with a summit tech(who told me about this site) Here is what i have. 89 iroc z. w/700r4 '92 four bolt main 1 pc rear seal, It's done -the builder took 2-3 thous. off deck to clean it, and 30 thous. out as per rotating assem. He "finished" the crank and checked the balance of the whole assem. Now he is tearing down my new heads to port and polish. Of course I have all new ARP stud and bolt kits, as well as some non performance must haves. I have the March underdrive pulley set already but I will need all new ignition parts. I need to work out the torq converter, inj. size as well as the throttle body size and maybe anything else I have forgotten. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! P.S. How about an est. on torq and hp#'s as I am hoping for 450tq and 400hp.

Really? Wow. I try to mention my connection with TGO whenever I correspond with those with whom I wish cooperation.

Compression - probably in the 10:1 range, depends upon the pin height of the pistons. With aluminum heads, that should be decent. Shoot for 0.040" quench height when assembled.

Power - probably in that range, gross flywheel.

Torque converter - best determined by engine dyno testing, but 3000 RPM stall probably wouldn't do you harm.

Custom chip - have you considered speed density and DIY PROM tuning?

Rear - Either really beef up that 10-bolt, or get a 12-bolt made up for you.

Well I was working with a sales rep and he kept putting me on hold to ask a tech. Finally I asked to just talk to the tech myself and we worked it out, he told me about TGO.
Since I am not assembling the motor I have no idea about the quench height. I am kinda just the bank in all of this (sad to say) but I said I am looking for this, this, and this. That's why I really don't want to mess around with DIY PROM tunning for 1 good reason I HAVE NEVER ATEMPTED ANYTHING LIKE IT. I do have a power programmer on my R1 and my 700 raptor but they both came with the tunning needed. I am open to it I will just have to do some research prior to making that commitment. Lastly I am in the hole with my rear end- 9 bolt 2.77 and I hate those gears so I will try a 10 bolt stocker for now. I have already spent 7g in motor and tranny work, and close to 2500 in suspension. Buying a 12 bolt will have to wait. Thanks for the input and hopefully someone will give me their .02 about injectors and maybe a throttlebody size.

Re: new member sayin hey and askin for input

ok after looking around on thirdgen.org I have come to the conclusion maybe my setup is a little weak in the hp and torq dept. So I was wondering if any of you guys can give me some tips before I go installing this motor . Maybe a "bigger" cam. I did find out that he had the rotating assem. sent out to be balanced, and he matched my ports on the motor. That I'm sure will help but I am really struggling with this setup now. I think more power is very doable. Thanks in advance.
