Ahh! 82 Maro???

Well, i just got done building a L98 TPI, all new guts.. runs great on the dyno, but she isnt rolling any wheels yet.. as in, IT NEEDS A CAR

I found an 82' Z28 locally, going for $250. Body is perfect, has no motor or trans in it, and she needs some interior work (perfect summer project?)

My question is, I know that 82 came stock with a carb, and im not sure if the dash, guages.. etc is different from the TPI jobs. And i definitely want to run TPI.

What kind of hell will i run into if i get a dash harness, engine harness and ECM from a 86', and throw it in there?

What will/wont work.. what kinda joberew is this going to be? Any support is greatfully appreciated.

Re: Ahh! 82 Maro???

wiring is cake if it is uncut... less than 1 days work (gutting the 82 and putting in 86')... if you remember how you took out the 82 stuff

do yourself a favor.. use a digital camera before you pull a wire off.

I didn't do TPI, but I did swap the whole '86 dash ('82 was a V6). The only issues I had were the passenger kick-panel bulkhead connector was larger for the V8 (just opened the hole up a little), and the connectors to the rear chassis were different (had to find schematics for each year/car and re-do the chassis-side connectors).
