2.8 to 305 from 88 firebird to 86 firebird....
hey guys i am going to attempt a swap from a 2.8fi to a 305 tbi. I am getting the motor plus tranny from a 88' firebird ( i have an 86 firebird). All that i need is motor, tranny, wireing, ecm, exhaust manifolds, front shocks, front springs, front swaybar and a v8 tach. This is what I have read to find out.
Is there anything else i should need? What special tools am i going to need to put these parts in my car. I am assuming I will need a spring compressor and etc. But what else.
THANKS IN adva

Did you read the V6 to V8 sticky in the top section of this forum?
You need all of the exhaust, not just the manifolds.
You don't need the front shocks (struts, actually). They are the same whether V6 or V8.

It's a little vague because of all of the possible combinations of V6 cars and V8 engines for the swap.
