Need help mounting alt./power steering pump
Hey guys I just put a 350 into my 305 1987 firebird and I need help with mounting the alt/powersteering pump. The new engine is from an 89 truck. The 305 had the v belts and the new 350 has serpentine. On the 350 the alt/power steering pump were mounted using one big bracket, but the bracket that came with it is broke where the alt goes. Can I somehow use my original alt. if I put a different pulley on it? Then I would have to somehow mount it- I have the bracket for the original alt, but I think It was mounted on the passenger side instead of above the power steering. Also, where would I get a serpentine pulley for the alt?
Now on the passenger side the 350 had a big bracket that held the smog pump, a/c pump and the tensioner. Im not using the ac or the smog, so could I put the alt. over there?
That makes my last problem the tensioner. If I get rid of that bracket to put the alt over there, I no longer have a tensioner. I was planning on just putting that bracket on until I found a tensioner to use that didn't need that bracket. So where can I find a tensioner like this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just dont want to have to go get a new bracket from a junkyard and then buy a new alternator that can be used with that bracket.
