My new 350 engine came in today and Im trying to sum up the things I need to make the new engine work, Im going to swap out my TBI 305 for a carbed 350,
I have a intake, HEI distributor, and a harmonic balancer.
Im going to get a 650cfm holley carb (not exactly sure what my local stores has though)
new fuel filter,
I'm going to run a bypass regulator, I don't want to tare out my stock fuel pump yet.
oil filter,
oil,
spark plugs,
I'm going to use my old spark plug wires,
I'm going to use my stock starter,
Do I need to change my water pump? This is one of the most concern one I'm not sure about.
Is there anything I'm missing?
I want to get everything ordered or ready, because the builder I bought it from is only giving me a 30 day warranty, (I didnt recieve any paper work, not even warranty sheet, or a dyno sheet, but I got the engine already and its a brand new block, not used.)
Thanks,
Tim

You should use the water pump that was on your 305, or a replacement.
You need a TV corrector bracket for the throttle arm of the Holley. Probably need throttle cable stud, too.

Alright, Thank you.
That was what I was hoping to hear.
hmm, alright, I will look for one of those too/
Thanks a whole lot,
Tim

i work at advance auto parts and i think you should get a Q-jet from them for a like 78 Camaro with a 350, last time i checked i think the price was $271.00 dollars for one and they do have a couple holleys on the shelves and edelbrocks but deff stay away from edlebrocks and holleys you have to keep tuning they say well so ive heard and there also pretty pricey but with the couple extra bucks spent you can get a rebuilt q-jet and get just as good performance and better gas mileage as long as you have them tuned right and i dont think you have to keep tuning them. i guess see what other people say but thats the route im going to go.
