350 Swap in 1990 Trans Am
Alright, I've got a 90 T/A with bad rings and I'm looking for a temporary engine while I get my other plans together. Not looking for anything high performance but I came across a good deal on a 1993 LT1 engine. I'm wanting to go carbed so I don't have to deal with the wiring on this engine. Would I be able to use one of the intakes designed for the 87-95 blocks on this one? Also, will there be any issues like running cooling lines or needing different motor mounts? Or would it be better all together to try to find an L98? Basically which one would be cheaper to put in once it's all said and done. Like I said though, I'm not even dealing with the computer on this one, just slapping a new intake, distributor, and carb on it to call it good.

A couple of things I personally would never consider:
1. Calling an LT1 installation "temporary".
2. Putting a carb on an LT1 (takes a special LT1-only carb intake manifold).

Re: 350 Swap in 1990 Trans Am
I found the LT1 on craigslist for 600. I need a new engine because of the fact that my little 305 is burning oil and getting ready to give out. The carb intake for the LT1 is only $260 so it's not like I have to go all crazy and get some special conversion intake. Plus that way I don't have to deal with all the fuel injection wiring that I would have to do. Plus I have an LQ4 block that will get built up in time. I just need this engine now before the 305 goes to ****. By temporary I didn't mean it'll be there six months and then kicked out the door, it'll take a while to build my 408 the way I want to. So, will this block bolt up?
