i have an 87 305 with tpi. the rear seal went out was going to rebuild it but couldnt pass up the this 350 tbi out of a suburban. My question is what do i need to do to keep my tpi off my 305. Can i use the heads already on the 350? If not can i temp. use the heads off my 305 till i can afford the right heads.? What do i need to do for injectors? What do i need to do to the computer? For the '87 TPI, you can basically change out the longblocks. The knock sensor and module should work from the truck. The factory used 22 lb injectors for 350 TPI. The 19's from the 305 would work, but you might be a little on the weak side at WOT.

There are some differences between 305 and 350 PROM tuning, but the engine will run on the 305 tune.

 

thanks for the reply!!!! What about swiching the heads from 305 to the 350 will my tpi intake bolt up to the 350 heads? What do i have to do to put the 305 heads on 350? Im looking for a quick swap so the easiest way is what im looking for and the cheapest. What about the distributor us the on the 350 or swap for the one i have? Thanks again for all the help!!!!!!!!
