small block 350 power/performance
small block 350 power/performance
i bought a older 350 and i am putting some money into it to give it more power just so i can be content with it till i can get a latermodel motor.
i am planing on doing a nice cam, intake, heads, carb, dist. long tubes, i just wanted ask around what other poepl have done or what u have used to get an old 350 to perform good and be content with it. i dont want to get into bottom end just because of that fact this motor is only getting me by.

There really isn't much difference between building an older vs. newer 350 except flat tappet vs. roller lifter cam, and that's not a big factor.
If you aren't willing to go through the bottom end, you'd better keep it a mild build. What are you willing to spend? You can get a good Vortec heads/intake/gasket/bolts/rockers kit from sdparts.com for around $1100. Add a cam like Comp XE262, 650 DP holley, you'll have a decent performing driver.
