question for a tpi swap
my car is an 87 iroc, that had a 350 tpi in it. all stock, i got the car with everything but the engine, so i put in a 305 h.o. will after market parts, the engine is in, and all set to go, but, the problem im having is wiring, i hate it!!!!
i have an idea of what wires i dont need, like sensors, and fuel injectior wires, but can i simply just cut them, or what, do i even need the computer for the trans, or to even run the car, as far as i know it dosent have vats. im using the stock fuel pump with a regulator and return, if i havent said its a carbedded engine. i just need like the headlights, starter, battery wires, windshield wiper stuff, heater stuff (might not have a heater at this point, useless to me), and just small things. what would i be using that the computer controlls, and what can i cut without the computer seeing that the engine is not running, and not work the trans, that is important, and my main concern, its a 700r4 by the way. and please hurry with reposts, and dont hesitate, i need this project finished already, its close to winter!!!!

You need a geometry corrector bracket on the throttle arm for the TV cable.
The transmission will need some way to lock up the torque converter. The ECM won't be able to do that because the necessary inputs won't be there. That topic has been covered over and over - search.

Re: question for a tpi swap
alright, sorry for the repetitive posts, about the tv cable, i like making my own brackets, at this point im running an edelbrock perfromer, maybee a holley double pumper vacuum secondaries for race, i dont know, but i found the cable under the mess of wires, now pulling on it, i feel where it catches, do i make it where it catches, or when i pull on it maybee a quarter inch where there is a little area of nothing, i dont know how to describe it, i pull a little, then nothing, then all... how do i put it, you guys might know, like the throttle, there theres nothing, then where it moves the pedal, you know???? is it set up at where it catches, or at that quarter inch where there nothing kinda

Torque converter clutch (TCC) lock-up: Sticky in the top section of the Carburetor forum https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/carb...c-control.html
TV geometry corrector bracket, attaches to the throttle arm of the carb - you'd be better off buying one for your carb. There's one for Edelbrock carbs and one for Holley carbs. Check summitracing.com.
TV adjustment: You have to have the cable properly attached to its brackets and the carb. Depress adjustment button on the cable housing where it attaches to the bracket on the manifold, pull the housing rearward, release the button. Open the throttle wide open, the cable housing will click forward. Adjustment complete.

Re: question for a tpi swap
alright, what if i dont want overdrive, can i just leave it as it is, and not worry about it, and still go though the gears, 1-3 and maybee 4 is all i need, and thats it, no cruise control, not overdrive, thats it.
