power steering bracket....

ok i swapped a 350 out of an 84 corvette into my 86 Z, and then i put long tube headers on it. now i went to put all my camaro accesories onto the vette engine and my power steering bracket bolts to my stock manifold. does anyone know where i can buy a new bracket that bolts to the block instead?

Re: power steering bracket....

I am in the same boat and it just looks weird with headers and the brackets just sticking out... I am going to use spacers and just buy new bolts to fix everything.

Might want to try a C4 corvette bracket. Does your car have a serpentine setup? If so, C4s also have that. More importantly, they come factory with shorty headers so no log manifolds with a big bracket bolted to them.

An '86 didn't come with serpentine from the factory.

Just cut off one leg of the bracket that originally bolted to the manifold. Use a spacer to duplicate the original distance from the head to outer manifold and an original manifold bolt/stud for the bracket.

See Fig A from these Hooker instructions. http://static.summitracing.com/globa...ok-2460hkr.pdf

i had the problem with the headers being close to the frame on my swap. I also had new motor mounts and after the engine ran for a few miles, it must have just settle cause now it has more room. If you have poly motor mounts try switching to rubber, that also helped me out.
