Crate Motor Recommendatin 1991 GTA

The 305 in my nice 1991 GTA is getting tired. What current GM performance crate motor will work under the TPI that I have given a change to 350 adn larger injectors, right PROM, etc......I cannot find any reliable info on this...thank you Todd

I really think a new Vortec GM 350 is the best you can get for a stock TPI swap or upgrade.

Compared to other crate engines, it really is great. The only other thing you need that I know of is the vortec TPI base since the heads have a different intake bolt pattern. Vortec heads seem to really complement TPI setups in stock form.

There arent any GMPP crate engines that are a direct bolt in for a TPI engine. The ZZ4 engine is a close match but the heads are the Corvette L98's and have their own problems. (search for more info)

I'd recommend a short block and then get your own heads, cam, and intake.
