I need help on my project
i have an 86 camaro z28 with a 305 tpi that got wrecked i also have a 1989 camaro rs rolling chassis that had a 2.8 in it i want to take the motor and tranny out of the z28 and put it in the rs i want to know what all i will have to switch out if i can use the stock wiring and computer or if i will switch it everything and also i was wondering if i can take all the smog control stuff off like the charcol canister and what not bascially im trying to do this swap at easy and as cheap as possible i would appreciate it if someone could help and it would also help if someone had a parts list of everything i need to do the swap and step by step directions please please help

It can be done. You'll probably run into some issues. You'll need to swap over all of the ECM related hardware including harness and sensors. Not sure if you have VATS, but shouldn't cause big problems if you do. You'll have to take engine/tranny/exhaust, plus things like cables, hoses. And the '85 radiator.
Keep the vapor canister. It's more good than "bad".
You don't really need a parts list or step-by-step. You have both cars, switch over anything that attaches to the engine and/or anything that looks different between the two. Take pictures of both before you take anything apart, and pictures as you disassemble isn't a bad idea, either.
