keep the computer?

i bought an 87 trans am and it was originally a FI car. It had an early 80's carb'd 305 swapped in. I have tons of electrical issues with the dash and i was wondering if itd be safe to pull the computer out. I was looking at the harness and it goes into the engine bay but it is in a huge loom and goes all the way to the back of the bay so i cant really see whats connected and whats not. The car has no vats or anything. I'm just going to be running switches for the ignition anyway. So would it be ok to yank the computer and stuff out?

The computer isn't involved in your problems. The carb'd engine defeated the computer. The dash is (primarily) a separate harness.

You can remove it if you like, but don't expect it to fix any of your problems.
