5th gen swap

I have just started seeing the 5th gen Camaros, and do they look nice! That being said, my 92 RS still looks pretty nice too. Of course, it would look a lot nicer if it had once of those 400HP SS motors with the 6 speed in it. Even one of the V-6 motors would be pretty nice. Has anyone done this swap yet?

Re: 5th gen swap

It's doubtful that anyone has because the new Camaro has not been out long enough to find a cheap wrecked one in the salvage yard.

The V6 will be a different matter, but the V8 swap should be very similar to a 4th gen LS swap since I believe they both use the LS family of V8 engines.

Cruise the forums on LTx/LSx swaps and you will see them everywhere.

Re: 5th gen swap

V6 should be an easy swap too. Its a 60 degree v6, just like our ancient v6s.

I'm really liking the 6 speed on both auto & manual.....

Re: 5th gen swap

The new 60 degree V6 is not like ours, not much anyway. I beleive it is the new global 60 degree which uses different block configuration and different motor mounts than our style block.

It would go in I'm sure but I think it will be just like the other "non-standard" swaps requiring custom everything to do it.
