700R4 with a 396?
700R4 with a 396?
Ok so I guess now the question I need to ask is if a 700R4 is ok to match up with a 396, I've been told that the bellhousing will line up but what do I do about the difference in distance with the crankshaft centerline?

The answer was given in the other thread - get a flexplate that's drilled for either pattern.
Or get a large pattern TH700R-4 torque converter.

i agree with 57 kid. probably just as well of getting a flex plate the're fairly inexpensive. any dual pattern should cover it
