TPI or LT1 for a 92 RS??????

I plan on doing the V8 swap in spring. I was thinking of either getting the LT1 or the 1990 IROC TPI. The TPI cost $1500 and the LT1 would probably run me $3000. What would be the better engine for a street racer ? Oh and what would sound better? Im leaning towards TPI.

------------------
1992 Camaro RS 3.1L
T5 Manual 5 speed
Open Air Intake
Z-28 Exhaust
8.5mm MSD Ignition wires
TB Coolant bypass

Kills:

95 (****) Probe GT
94 Mustang GT
91 CRX (dont ask me why he raced me)
2nd Gen Z28 (350) haha to you V8 guys!
1992 RS 305 TBI (good race)
More to come

I just finished an LT1 swap and if I were you, thats what I would go with. Mine had the 305 TBI and, to start with, the LT1 already has atleast 30 HP over the TPI, secondly, I've seen alot more mods for LT1 than the L98, but thats all Ive been looking for, and last, you get to say that you've got an LT1

Car: '92 Typhoon/ '79 Vette
Engine: Turbo 4.3L/Forged 355ci
Transmission: 4l60/th350
the reason the LT-1 is a great engine is defineatly not beacuse of its HP, its because of its torque line. it reaches its peak at 2400RPM, which is insane. my friend has a 93 camaro Z28, and it pins you back in the seat. with only 275HP! i have drivin it and it feel more like 350Hp just because of how well it is geared and because it put out 325Ft Lbs of torque at 2400RPM. if your gonna get a new engine i recomend a 93' or newer lt-5. aaaaarrrggr (drooling) they are so badass
