mild 327?

I figured this would be the best place to get an expert opinion on this. I was originally planning on swapping a 350 in my car in place of the stock LG4. I have a T-5 and I would like to keep that, so I am a little worried that the torque from a 350 would be too much for it. I am thinking a 327 would be a good idea now because it is a higher revving motor, with a little less low end torque. I am building a new motor, so I can set it up any way I want. I would like to go for around 275-300HP and about 300Tq, with some decent high RPM power but also decent idle and lowend. Can anybody give me suggestion on what type of cam, etc I should use to get these numbers? I will be using the stock Q-jet and distributor. I also have 3.73's, if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can certainly build a 327 to meet those performance objectives. But, your T5's fate would be about the same as it would behind a 350. The difference in life would be statistically insignificant.
