Quick question about switching to carb

Just want to make sure, when you switch from tbi to carb, you ditch the whole computer right?

A few things changed between 1983 and 1991. Leave the ECM in there, take out the SES light bulb. Disconnect/tie back the harness pieces that aren't being used by the carb setup, leave everything else alone.

How are you handling the fuel pump?

Well we're swapping in a whole new 350. Were getting a new fuel pump for the carb setup. The main reason im asking if i can toss the ecm, is because my ecm might be fried. And im hoping that it wont be an issue with the new engine and carb setup.

Hey super83, just curious, what kind of gas mileage do you get with your setup?

i swapped my motor out in my 86 camaro. got a fresh 360 with a holly 700 double pumper on it. you can toss the comp and all the wires connected to it. you just need the red and pink (mine was pink) wires out the drivers side. thats the ignition. i dont know what your doing for a fan or pump, i just got all electric and wired it all in with a switch for the fan and i wired the pump to the ignition. i went with the complete MSD setup (box, dist, and coil with wires) as long as you got 12 volts to the motor your all set. just wait till you have to install the pump, hard finding spots under there. ive also heard that with a 700 tranny, if you dont get the right throttle bracket you can ruin the tranny. something to do with the kickdown cable or TV cable, not really sure.
