Out with 350... in with blown 468
Out with 350... in with blown 468
My car has been a project for the last two years and I was seriously close to turning the key on my 350 swap. Well, until this weekend when I pulled the 350 and trial fitted a 468 big block with a B&M 174 low profile blower
It went in like it was meant to be. No clearance problems whatsoever except for the air conditioner box on the passenger side firewall and that wouldn't even be an issue if I didn't have tall valve covers for the roller rockers. Heck, even the blower pulleys cleared the electric fan! I assume that it's understood, but let me clarify that it did NOT clear the hood... but who gives a rip?!?!
I've noticed many people having to do anything from mild changes to the firewall all the way to cutting and hacking nearly everything on the car! Not so with my '89 Firebird. Motor went in flawlessly. Anyone have a theory as to why mine was so easy compared to other people doing swaps on Camaros?
