Wished I had done the rebuiding of my 383!

I wished I had done the rebuilding of my 383 cuz this fool that did it for me has pissed me off. I just didn't have the time. I am now wondering did this guy put everything I bought into my engine or did he swap some of the good **** and replaced it with his crap.I just got a bad feeling on one of my unanounced visits. I am thinking of opening up my engine and see what the hell he put into it. Not that I have noticed anything wrong with the performance but still I just have this uneasy feeling. On that particular visit that I paid him I noticed he was working on an engine rebuild for his own vehicle. I kind of get the feeling this guy switched some of my new stuff and put some of this old **** on my motor! It f**ing sucks. Am I overreacting with this or what? The total cost of this engine ran me 3800.00 roughly.

May I ask as to what part are we talking about? No way of knowing unless you pull the motor apart. I always make it a habit of getting to know the person working on my vehicle. Before I moved to California, I used to be in Washington state (Whidbey Island) I had a speed shop (just opened up) install a 350 motor into my 86 Z-28 and for the life of m, they could not get it run right. A friend referred me to a couple's house that had a car business working out of their garaged. They fixed the problem and I later turned the receipt to the speed shop for a refund since they could not fix the problem in the first place. This couple now has a Diagnostic shop that has been open for the past 10years.

Yes, that is a concern and unless you pull the heads and scope out the pistons and degree the cam; you will never quite know. Hell, it may STILL be a 350. Now wouldn't that be a **** off.

If you had a "special crank/rods" it won't be too easy to check them; but you can at least verify the pistons and cam...and if they check out, then you can at least have a degree of comfort.

AND if they are not what you bought; then you have a lawsuit.
