Z28Boy, I have a ?

I went on your website, and I was looking at all of the things you bought with the new engine. As you know, I'm doing the same swap this summer, and I am going to get the 670 cfm Holley throttle body also. The part number that you gave said that it was for 5.7L 350's until 1989. Is this still going to work on the 350 HO?

Thanks man
Dave

You might not want to talk to just z28 boy. I just did the swap myself not even a week ago. The holley unit works fine but you will need to wire the injectors and the throttle position sensor. The throttle sensor/WOT is a BIG deal. I wired it up backwards and it was dumping fuel in at idle thinking I was at WOT. You'll need to pick up an adapter for the throttle sensor but when I'm done with the engine swap I should have the part you need and where to get it.

Ok, I'm having a shop install it for me, so are they going to screw up because I forgot to buy small things like that? So far I'm sending them: Engine, vortec intake w/egr,holley 670 cfm throttle body, harmonic balancer, and that's it, Thats all I've heard that I need to buy new(can't reuse from 305)
Then I hear all this about keeping my old computer system and getting a new knock sensor, and now this throttle ****.
Can someone tell me flat out EVERYTHING I will need to send the shop so it can be done successfully?

Also, JProvost, how do you like the engine? Was it worth buying and everything? How does it drive? Is it a complete makeover from the anemic 305?) I've heard it's great and worth it, but I want to hear it from someone who actually did it.

Thanks man,
Dave
P.S. My boss brought up a question that I hadn't even considered: Will I need a new transmission? I've got an automatic T-45 or whatever it's called and I've heard that they are good up to 400 HP. I'll buy gears when I get money after this choke of the pocket. Thanks

I don't have the time to tell you everything because I'm about to take off to go back to school. It's a 540 mile test drive and I'll tell you how she runs. Then I hope to have some time to right a tech article on the exact swap. Your trans should be okay as long as you don't race with it. I highly recommend a trans cooler, it'll save you hundreds in the long run. You might want to pick up a fuel pump block off plate. You can use the old one but it's usually all rusty. What intake are you using? If it's still going to be TBI then I can help you out a lot. You'll also need to modify the TV/cruise/throttle cable bracket but I'll show you how to do that.
