made from about 63-66; little brother to the 389. It was the low-perf motor in the lineup, much like the 283 was to the 327 at the same time. The small motor came with a 2-barrel while the big one came with a 4-barrel.
I don't remember the bore and stroke and all that. I do recall that everybody that had one couldn't wait to yank it and drop in a 389 or later a 400. Sort of the LG4 305 of its day.

1967 was the last year. 326 Pontiacs are fine for cruising around but never build one. The bore is 3.72 and the stroke is 3.75. A Pontiac 400 also has a 3.75 stroke, but has a 4.12 bore. Pistons for 326s are hard to find and expensive compared to other Pontiacs. If you are going with traditional Pontiac power, then build a 400, 428, or 455. As a side note, did you know that there is no such thing as a big or small block Pontiac. All blocks from the 1955 287 to the 455s and even the worthless 301s are the same size. The difference being bore/stroke, journal size, and deck height.
