help with my swap!

Thanks for helping me out ahead of time. i am just tring to swap my 305 out of my 84 Z28. i just want it to be a daily driver and have a little more power. i have been looking at a GM Goodwrench 350 1970-85 part number 809-10067353. a few people have told me that i need to change my exhaust manifolds because they will have more holes one side or some thing along those lines. will i need to change any thing else i just want to use every thing off the 305 to keep the cost down and the ease of the swap. If there are any other parts that i will need please just let me know thank you again for your help.

It has 7-bolt heads, I believe.

The LG4 exhaust is restrictive, but otherwise, you won't need to change anything else to do the swap.

Re: help with my swap!

So I can just every thing stock that is on there right now is what you are saying? Do you have any good upgrade ideas for the manifolds? If I get headers will have to get all new exhaust?

In order for any exhaust upgrade to be effective, you pretty much have to do the whole exhaust.

The L69 exhaust was much better than the LG4. You can get away with '86-'90 LB9 exhaust, which would easily support that engine (basically flows the same as the L69 exhaust), and is more plentiful, but the LB9 wouldn't have the EFE valve (and you wouldn't with headers, either, unless you went with the Edelbrock TES - I haven't had an EFE valve for the last 8 years).

Check the Classifieds forums on the Board. Somebody is always upgrading their exhaust and has stock stuff for sale. It might be more cost effective to buy a new cat back, rather than having a used one shipped, though.
