Do GM make aluminum vortec heads?
The GM fastburn head has both the standard chevy intake and Vortec bolt pattern. Edelbrock has aluminum vortec heads known as E-TEC 170 and 200. The 170 is better than the iron GM head and a good street head, but not a hi HP head like the fastburn. The E-TEC 200 is better than the Fastburn and outflows most the heads in it's categorey, but not the AFR CNC heads, CNC porting is hard to beat. The E-Tec's do have CNC port matching but are not CNC ported, yet. But at about $600 less than AFR I bought a set. These are the only "Vortec" aluminum heads I know of.

Alot of people incorrectly call the Fastburn heads AL Vortec heads. I've even seen them advertised as such. Fastburns have several similarities w/ the Vortecs, but they are not Aluminum Vortecs.
The only Aluminum Vortecs are the Edelbrock E-Tec heads like someone already said. They're not made by GM though. However, for the price I think you'd do better to go w/ the TrickFlow 23 degree heads. They match/outflow the E-Tec 200 and are actually cheaper.

Not on the flowbench I saw, the E-TEC 200 outflowed the G2 which outflows the 23º.
With the trickflows you also get the cheaper construction, which I think has been talked about enough.
Fastburn heads also contain the manifold bolt pattern for Vortec style manifolds as well as the older style.

I am closeing thisa topic because it really has nothing to do with swapping motors. Next time please try the tech section.
