alright, i am going to take the carbed 2.8l out of my 84 camaro and put a 350 TPI in it.i know i have to change the tranny and the regular stuff including the computer. one question i have is will the F41 suspension handle the 350 temporarily, i am going to change my suspension in about 7 months so will it handle it for a little while?and what surprises do i need to know about before i get started?thanks

 

you are going to have to change at least your front springs, because the v8 is a lot heavier than the 2.8, and will make the car ride horribly and very low in the front.

surprises in the swap? hmmmm....you're gonna need to swap the whole fuel setup to a higher pressure pump and all new fuel lines. The whole cooling system should be upgraded, rad, fan(s), etc. not sure if the driveshaft is a direct swap either. might need a v8 driveshaft. make sure you get a full wiring harnesses, and keep in mind all the sensors add up quickly, especially if you go with an MAF setup. you will need an exhaust setup from the cat forward definitely. Lots of other stuff too.

 

It's not gonna work if you don't change the springs, the weight will not be balance and you may end up spinning the rear tires all the time. It can be dangerous.

thanks guys, i am taking the parts from a donner car that will be right next to it,so i will just transfer the suspension over. i got an alignment yesterday and they said my front suspension is shot so i have to change it anyway.
