I plan on buying a 98-99 Z28 parts car for the conversion. I'm pretty sure I can use the engine, tranny (6-sp), and ABS setup without too much trouble. I will be switching to the 4th gen computer, sensors, exhaust, etc... Anyone know if I'm out of my mind? Will the swap be as easy as I think? Can I use any other cool parts off of the 4th gen?

you are not out of your mind, it is very doable. think about spending at least 3000-4000$ , i'm in the process of doing a 93 lt1 and i'm now up to 2500$ canadian so far and it's not done...but still hang in there, it's doable, it takes time, and just a reminder try to figure out everything before doing it, I had to remove the lt1 and put back the old engine because the wiring was just a mess, I'm almost done with figuring wiring harness but that's with the help of "multi-tasking". it takes lot of time and PITA but the result will be great !

I suggest you buy the GM service manuel (for the engine you are using) -- that's what I did... I also suggest you become friends with a GM parts person (yep! did that also)... This (preparing to swap) has been a pain in the butt., but also a lot of fun... I also suggest you search this site and find someone that has done your swap before., that type of help is better than ANY book.

Also check out www.hpsalvage.com Actually, send them an email - if they can they will help--they will -- they did it for me., they are great folks...

v/r and have fun!

p.s. Edited four or five time because I can't spell… If I could I would be dangerous!
