Where can i get a good 350 from for cheap?
I am getting a 89 camaro with the 305 in it and want to change it to a 350.What is the best and cheapest ways to do this.I cant rebuild anything b/c i dont have the right tools. So should i just go pull one from a junk car and swap it in mine. Also i want it to be carbed but the tranny works with the ecm right? So can i still bolt up the carbed 350 w/no probs?
Thanks

In my experience(which isnt much) just yanking a motor out of another car that you know nothing about and putting it into your car is not a good idea.
The motor could have been used for towing for 50K and have some hard miles on it and then you pay the money for a motor that has 50K on it...but it quits on you at 55K.
Save yourself the money and disapoint and do an overhaul or rebuild on the motor. You can get a shortblock assembled for $100-200 and then put the lifters, prods, heads, intake and rockers on yourself. All you need for that is a torque wrench and you can borrow that from autozone if you have one.
Your probaly looking at $300 for a 350 unless you get one that doesnt run..or is apart(like i did) for $50-$100
Then rebuild/overhaul for $600.
Good luck
