Serious questions about LO3 to L98 swap....
I am seriously considering this swap. I want power, lots of torque, and I want a factory style setup.
Basically what I'll be doing is buying a ZZ4 crate motor and then buying a complete TPI setup with all components, computer, wiring harnass, and extras like larger runners, ported intake, etc. to sufficently feed the ZZ4.
I guess what I really need to know, is this a good idea? I have considered the mini ram but I don't think I want to do that simply because it is a foreign system to standard GM products.
And will a shop do a swap like this for me? Seriously will a mechanic totally bust out laughing at me if I propose this kind of a thing? This is doable right??
thanks

Engine swaps are a lot more work than just direct replacements.
You might find a race shop that will do it, but you will charged too much. Might as well wait till you feel confident on doing it yourself. Its a lot of work and you will be charged about $50-60 per hour. Unless you are filthy rich, but if you were filthy rich I doubt youd be driving an LO3
