L98 to LS1, or LS6
Hey guys, has ANYONE did a LS1 swap in a third gen, or does anyone have sites where i can go look at? I am pretty determained to do this, so if u tell me it can't be done, i'll just spend a few years then it'l get done. any tips or anything? This way i can get the best of both Gens. also, will my tranny bolt up.

Your tranny won't bolt up. Your motor mounts won't work with it, nothing will. It will almost be like putting a ford motor in it. Only it won't suck like a ford motor would. This guy has a lot of info about this swap. http://www.fbody.com/members/bradkiel/

You will need the transmission, ecm and wiring harness from the donor car and then do a whole lot of fabricating for motor mounts and cross-members.
You have to think of the swap as a "system". And if the LS1/LS6 has other sensors, you will have to consider those too. I am not "up" on my LS1/LS6 ECM (actually PCM), but they check a heck of a lot more than our cars due to OBD II and other features that GM has installed on the newer PCMs. You need to do research in that area.
