Am I dumb, or is the tech at Scoggin Dickey?

I called the Scoggin Dickey tech with some questions about the LO5 today. I asked him what would require changing swaping my current 305tpi for the LO5 longblock with the same TPI intake. He said I wouldnt require any new sensors other than the knock sensor, but I would have to change my computer chip because I would be switching from MAF to Speed Density. This blew my mind. Am I wrong to assume that with the identical intake and sensors, I would keep my current system with perhaps a richer map? If I am wrong what is the difference between MAF and Speed Density? Do they use the same sensors??? When I posed this question to the tech he just repeted the same non-answer until I gave up.

If you reuse your TPI then there is no change. You keep your intake, SD, MAF, whatever you have. I think the tech was stuck in stupid.
