i plan on putting a 95 LT1 in my 89 tbi rs.i have done a lot of research on all the different options.heres just a sample.
for the fuel pump an LT1 fuel pump will fit right into your sender
as for the wiring i got a ron francis wiring kit and it comes with the module to eliminate the vats and you can trim the wires to fit your car
as for carberating an LT1 gm perf. parts has intakes and other parts to eliminate the optispark(seen lots of probs with it)
A/C im eliminating mine and i got a bracket to eliminate the a/c compressor its for a 96T/A(will fit b body brackets with a little work)
any body with questions can just post them and ill try to answer them for you
(by the way im a chevy mechanic[corvette specialist])

Dude, If you're gonna carburate an LT1, don't bother with an LT1. Also If you're carburating an LT1, why would you be buying a VATS removal wiring harness since the carburated LT1 will no longer use a computer.
Also, if you're getting rid of the optispark and going to a regular HEI distributor, you may as well save yourself a LOT of money and just buy yourself a Gen I regular small block 350. It seems to have the features you want.
Optispark really isn't a bad distributor, the only thing you gotta remember is to keep water off of it.
If you really want an LT1 stay fuel injected. All you'll need for a fuel pump is a regular TPI fuel pump. ok but im not running my lt1 carbed i just posted that if someone wanted to know.the wiring harness i got is for the eng and trans (4l60e)it cost me a lot more then making it but i didnt want to go through all the crap of making a harness. i know about the water deal but have you ever see how many lt1 water pumps leak,i have and it aint pretty,but if you keep up on your car its not a prob.also i am making a custom gauge panel with all autometer gauges.im doing all this work myself and im hoping for about 450 hp with my lt1.but thanx for your responce and id really like to see some pics if you have any.ive been researching this since i got the car because i had the motor in my s-10 until i got the 3rd gen and i really want to just do it and get it over with withpout having to wait to get parts and all that happy hose ****

You will have to be waiting for parts and stuff, it's inevitable. The fuel lines are stock in my car, just where it goes from hard line to the fuel rail is just some custom braided line. It's getting finished up now, I don't have it on yet, but soon enough.

well about the opti spark, it's not that bad as people are saying , just put a metal plate 2" x 3" between the optispark and the water pump, it will solve your problems forever. mine leaked like crazy and it didn't do nothing to the opti S. also if you are thinking about carbing a lt1, think about it this way, you will spend hours trying to make that intake fit properly, if the hole you drill for the distributer shaft is not perfect your spark will not be good. that motor is not something to be carbed, I know it's possible to do it but staying with the fuel injection will not drop your HP, it will not leak on your optispark if you check everything before driving it.

by the way wqhat carb are you thinking about using with this and witch intake are you using ??? you need a simple plane intake to be able to redrill the hole to match the LT1 , since you HAVE to use a simple plane intake, you are losing approx. 30-40 hp. no mather what carb you are using.
Think also about the gas milleage, fuel injection make miracles.

im not,the whole reason i want the lt1 is for the injection,but gm perfomance parts makes carbed manifolds for the lt1 and the lt4,but thanx for the tip on the metal plate i just might have to do that.im in the process of putting a new dist. on a vette at work right now because of a leaking water pump,car is missing like crazy.by the way did i mention im a mechanic for a chevy dealer.thats why i see so many of the optispark problems,especially on cop cars.ive done so many i got it down to 2 hours on a vette!so nice to have the right tool for the job

Yeah i was wondering if you guys could tell me what would be the best way to put an LT1 in my 1991 v-6 firebird....i know it will need a lot of things done to it but i was wondering if you guys could give me some tips on what to do?

Well, before the LT4 hotcam, 1.6 rockers and LT4 knock module, it was putting 295hp and 314 ft.lbs to the ground. I'm looking forward to see what the cam swap is going to give me, but it's gotta come out of the body shop before I'll be able to dyno it again. Some stupid lady ran a red light and slammed into my car. It'll be back on the road pretty soon, so i'll be able to find out what it'll do now.
by the way im gonna be running the same setup as fredo but im gonnbe using a 95 4l60e and lt4 injectors

That combo sounds very nice...Should put some Arao heads on it...been looking at them for a bit..very expensive but the results you can get out of those 32valve heads...make your car move so much faster
