If i already have a stroker

Thats a pretty open question. I didn't think that it would cost me much since I already had a kit. I decided to keep the TPI, so now 2,500 later I got the car to start. Most of the $$ went to upgrading the fuel injection system, injectors, TB, Porting, custom chip, etc,. I have about 4k total into the motor witht the kit.

Re: 383 stroker

i am also planning a stroker project. L98 vette motor...im going to paint the block and heads orange. i have decided to go eagle cast 3.75 crank, eagle 5140 SIR i beam rods, speed pro hyperutectic pistons and speed pro rings, clevite bearings all around, trick flow super street 23* 195 heads and matching cam, trick flow pushrods, trickflow lifters, Holley stealth ram intake, and 52mm throttlebody, bosch 24lb injectors, hedman headers, msd ignition, cloyes timing set, holley 255lph in tank fuel pump, and then dress it up with chrome valve covers, chrome serp. pulleys, chrome alt. chrome waterpump, chrome ac comp., he!! even a chrome oil pan... it all depends on how much money you want to spend on it... mines gonna take me about 2yrs, maybe more, to complete because im on a budget, not to mention the t56 tranny swap... i just like to the sound and feel of banging the gears myself... but search on the net, around town, you can find used parts, cleanum up and tweak them and still come out cheaper than buying a new part....

Re: 383 stroker

you will need to clearance the block for the longer stroke/rods to make sure everything clears

that usually is about 200 bucks or so extra machine work, atleast thats what my local machine shop quoted me. BUT that depends on how much work they have to do. Depends onthe kit you have. If not a lot of clearancing is needed, then it will be cheaper.

depends on your cam and how much power your looking to make, 30 lb injectors may suit your needs better. 24's usually only support about 350whp on 355" sbc.

Re: 383 stroker

Mine costed about 8000 for the complete job but I didnt have the kit and I changed alot of things...take a look

specs are somewhere in there. Mine too was a L98. You will need alot of machine work so the piston rods dont hit the block.

Not really, just a few minutes with a die grinder.
