86 Z28, Changing 305 to 350, will Vortec heads fit current belt accessory brackets?
Hello,
I have an 86 Camaro, 305, 4bbl, engine code H, it has AC. A shop is
building a 350 and considering using the vortec heads.
Will I have problems with my brackets (AC, Alt. PS, etc..) not matching the
vortec heads, I understand that these heads protrude forward a little, also will I be able to find a intake that will match all the
linkage mounts, etc..
The casting number on the head is 14102193.
Any help or guidance would be very much so appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard of any problems with getting accessories to bolt up. But, you do need an intake that is made for the Vortec heads, and if you have emissions to worry about, the Vortec heads don't have the exhaust cross-over passage that the EGR valve needs to feed it. This can be overcome by plumbing exhaust up from the manifold to the cross-over passage in the intake, though.
It can be done, but either you or the shop doing the work had better understand up front what the challenges are.

193's are not Vortec's they are Swirl Port's
for truck engines. They do have a regular bolt pattern and ex. crossover passages.

Dyno Don is right. What you have isn't a vortec head. Basicly there are two vortec 350 castings which have casting #'s ending in 906 or 062. If you use the real vortecs (which are way better than the Swirl port TPI
TBI head you have) and an edelbrock performer RPM, Check the front alternator bracket bolt hole, right on the front of the manifold.
Mine needed the hole in the bracket enlarged
some to get correct alignment of the alternator with the other engine pulleys...
