electrical fuel pump bypass
electrical fuel pump bypass
Does anyone know how to bypass the intank electrical fuel pump with out dropping the tank and taking it out? I was just thinking about it. I don't think the intank pump can supply a 406, 450hp small block with the right amount of fuel it needs. Thanks

Cutting an access hole above the tank
is a common way to get at the pump with the tank in the car. 'Have to take up the carpet
just behind the back seat. The fuel pickup
lines are attached to a removable plate
on the top of the tank. Get a diagram of
your fuel system to see where to cut the floor. Cut a U shaped access door with an air chisel. Then when you're done just fold the flap of metal back down and secure with metal screws and strapping. Then seam seal the edge. I assume You'll be going to a carb
on your new 406. A hi perf mechanical 6/9
psi pump will out perform any but the most
expensive electrics, and last a lot longer.
Yo could use the in tank pump for a nitrous system and just run a complete new fuel line to the motor for the carb.
