I must thank you all for you thoughtful advice and opinions...do any California Camaro/Firebird owners have info to share regarding keeping an engine swap smog-passable? I am now considering a rebuild of the 2.8 V-6 I already have instead of getting jerked around come smogcheck time over a bigger engine...Thank you for the help.
what yaer and model type was it? you can do a lot of different things but you have to be carefull what you do. for instance you cant take a fuel injected car and make it carb. but let me know what you have and i can check with my friend that is a refery.

Actually you can turn a FI car into a carb car, thats just a myth that you cant do that. You can also get a certification for a car that never came with the engine you are putting in, thats another myth. The law reads that the engine you are installing must be the same year or newer than the chassis, and that all the emissions equipment from the new engine is retained and installed in their original locations. If the car is around 88ish or newer, then yea you cant go to a carb from FI since there was no more carbed vehicles for the most part...
