boring from .020 to .030
boring from .020 to .030
Ok, planning the 383. Have all of the parts. The current 350block is .020 over and need to go .030, when the motor was disabled it wasn't firing on the number 6 cylinder. The cylinder is either egg shaped or the ring was trashed. You cannot see any visible scoring and cannot feel any grooves. Now, my question is. Is the .005 over on each wall going to be enough to "true/clean" it up?
I know I really won't know until its been to the machine shop but I'd like any guessimates or opinions.
Thanks,
Brendan

Without seeing it, its hard to say but if theres no grooves or anything obvious visually, then it should clean up just fine. Also note that many blocks that are .030 over see .040 as the next step. The shop will be able to tell you when you take it in there.
