need help!!!

i have an 87 iroc-z carburated 305 with a 700 r4. i want to swap a motor into it but as u know in 87 they changed the blocks to centerbolt heads, one piece rear mains...... so im wondering if i can swap and early engine in but it stiill be compatable with my wiring (for the distrubutor). im looking to put a 350 400 or 454 in it so any advice would be nice. thanks

Re: need help!!!

The block and heads have nothing to do with the wiring. Unless you changing your induction type(FI-carb or carb-FI). Worst case is you may need to lengthen or shorten some wires depending on where you put the sensors.

Re: need help!!!

The wires don't care what engine is in the car, so yes you can. There's a ton of info here about swapping in almost anything - is you friend - just start reading swap threads pertaining to the motor and induction method you choose.

the distributor only needs a key on hot wire to run
