383 build question!!!!!!
Hey guys.....quick question, if I have an 1985 305 block, and I want to swap for a 1994 4 bolt main 350, will I run into fitment issues such as alternator brackets, starter, water and PS pump, etc....or is everything the same???
Thanks for the Help!!!

Re: 383 build question!!!!!!
It's all the same. Apart from oil pans and flywheels, anything that fits one SBC block will fit any other.

Re: 383 build question!!!!!!
I can not comment about the flywheel but the oilpan should be different because the 94 engine is a one piece rear main seal where the 85 would be the old 2 piece style.

Re: 383 build question!!!!!!
Although technically, the flywheel doesn't bolt to the block, it bolts to the crank.

Re: 383 build question!!!!!!
'85 is a 2 piece rear main, has a large bolt pattern and a large end the flywheel bolts to . '94 is a 1 piece rear main, has a small bolt pattern and a small end the flywheel bolts to.
