355 for 850 bucks?

hello everyone,I'm currently in the process of buying a new motor to replace the old 305 and I just found a fresh 355 for sale for 850 bucks.Heres the seller description:

I have a Fresh SHORT block 355. This is a 350 bored 30 over. It has Forged TRW pistons with a 125 dome on them. Total seal rings. X-Rod's with ARP bolts. Stock crank and clevite bearings. everything has been balanced. Block was also line honed. brass freeze plugs. You can put a 125-150 shot of NOS on this bottom end. $850. takes it.

since I dont know much about prices and good deals on engines,Id like to know if this deal is worth it.

I bought mine for that much. Great deal IMO. Does this individual have papers proving the work done?

What's his name? Get his full name, and ask a few other local racers if they know of him. You should be careful of people who build racing engines (those who claim it) because often times they're a sham and they rig your motor with junk. We've got a guy here that does this on Craigslist and everywhere else, and all the local racers know him from burning people.

I bought my motor from someone I know, and he does things the right way. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't feel comfortable buying a motor without hearing it run at the very least and having every piece of paper proving what's in it. Visual inspection would also be highly recommended, obviously. Whatever you do - be skeptical simply because it's your money that's on the line.

What heads? Doesn't say anything about the heads. Since he does claim domed pistons, need to know what the final compression ratio is.

Doesn't mention cam. That would be good to know.

How long has it been now since TRW made pistons? 7, 8, 9 years? Been awhile.

Not necessarily no-go stuff, but certainly raises flags. I'd suggest getting more information.

well it doesn't bring heads, cam, carb or oil pan.Its basically just the fresh block, pistons and the other stuff he mentioned and by the way apparently the pistons are speed pro but he calls them TRW.
